About Give Aloha

Give Aloha is an annual program through which Foodland directs its charitable giving to the organizations that are important to its customers. The program honors Maurice J. "Sully" Sullivan, founder of Foodland Super Market, Ltd., and continues his legacy of giving back to the community.

Who Can Participate?
All Hawaii 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations including public schools, athletic teams, and churches are invited to participate. Groups that are not registered as a 501(c)(3) organization may register through a 501(c)(3) sponsoring agency that is affiliated with the group. Foodland reserves the right to refuse participation of any nonprofit organization.

How Does Give Aloha Work?

Give Aloha runs throughout the month of September at all Foodland, Foodland Farms, and Sack N Save stores statewide. Customers can visit any store location and support Give Aloha at checkout. A code is assigned to each organization for donation tracking.

How customers can support their favorite nonprofit organization:

  • Make a monetary donation up to $249 and a portion of each gift will be matched by Foodland (must be an enrolled Maika'i member)

How customers can support the Give Aloha matching gift fund for all participating nonprofits:

  • Round up their purchase
  • Donate spare change
  • Donate 250 Maika'i points to equal a $5 donation
  • Purchase Give Aloha merchandise designed by artist Suzanne Jennerich
